The Carver School of Missions and Social Work opened in 1907 as the Woman's Missionary Union Training School for Christian Workers in Louisville, Kentucky, to train women for Christian ministry and mission work. The school trained many women who would serve as missionaries of the Home and Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
